The Church of God Credentials Manual describes the standard and processes for ministers and congregations to obtain and maintain credentials.​

NEW TO CREDENTIALS? 

If you are interested in becoming a vocational minister within
the Church of God,
here is how you get started.

Ministerial Credentials Application Process

(Note: The timing varies based on the Candidate's time to get all materials submitted, the Credentialing Services (CS) Team schedule,
and the Leadership Focus course schedule.)

1. Read Sections 1.2 & 2 of the Church of God Credentials Manual above for the Qualifications & Conditions for Vocational Minister Credentialing.

2. Submit the following two letters to WPA Ministries (email to wpaministries1@gmail.com with the subject “Credentials” or mail to the address at the bottom of this page with “Attn: Credentials” )

A. Letter of Intent including the following:

a. a brief personal testimony of how you came to Christ

b. a brief description of your call to ministry

c. an explanation of why you feel called to be a Church of God minister (as opposed to another faith group)

B. Letter of Recommendation from the Candidate's Senior/Lead Pastor (If the Candidate is a Senior/Lead Pastor, the Candidate must submit a letter of reference from another Senior/Lead Pastor who is ordained in the Church of God.)

3. The Credentials Service Team will review the letters and follow up with the applicant as appropriate. (Note: The response time for applications varies based on the applicant's time to get all materials submitted and the WPA Credentialing Service Team meeting schedule.)
